The Collision Project at Industry City

The Collision Project is the open art platform and creative initiative of Industry City in Brooklyn. It utilizes the campus of Industry City’s diverse and flexible testing ground for artists and visionaries to collaborate.
Over the past 4 years, Haoran managed the art initiative and partnered with 35+ artists to create a wide range of engaging & cutting edge public art installations including murals, sculptures, interactive experiences, and light installations. Collaborations are cross-promoted on the artists’, Industry City’s, and The Collision Project’s social media platforms, ultimately receiving millions of social media impressions.

Self Guided Art Tour at Industry City
Role: Art Curation, Creative Direction, Graphic Design, Content Creation
A free & socially distant walking tour that covers all 14 art installations in its collection curated by The Collision Project, including the acclaimed full-façade mural by Camile Walala. Visitors are directed across the Industry City campus that highlight the newest pieces inspired by issues of 2020—quarantine, the pandemic, gender, and racial equality. With a phone in hand, anyone can scan on-site QR codes to get curation notes and follow the tour map.

Freight Elevator Takeover
Role: Art Direction, Content Creation
A series of industrial freight elevators taken over by color & holiday-themed art experience. (Pink Elevator - Valentine’s Day, Blue Elevator - Halloween, Gold Elevator - Christmas)
Haoran spearheaded this project and was involved in the entire production process from designing the set-up to sourcing the objects.
