Home is Inside You - AAPI Artist Series

Role: Art Curation, Creative Direction, Content Creation

Home is Inside You is a collection of art installations elevating AAPI artists and bringing awareness to supporting the AAPI community. Conceived with the inquiry, “What does home mean to you?,” the series was originally planned for the spring/summer season of 2020 at Industry City in Brooklyn, but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Home is Inside You features public art installations by artists Amrita Marino, Jia Sung, and Jocelyn Tsaih. In a time when many cultures and traditions fall under the term “Asian-American”, we selected artists with unique backgrounds and cultures, to tell their individual stories.

Each artist in the series selected a nonprofit organization to support via signage placed near their respective works and participated in fundraisers to support Heart of Dinner (an organization that focuses on delivering meals in hand-painted brown bags to the Asian elderly.) The fundraiser is a donation-based raffle of brown bags with artwork painted by each artist and has raised over $1,500 for the organization.
